Introducing the first babywearing t-shirt for stay-at-home and on-the-go dads! Thanks to Lalabu’s latest creation, new dads can bond better with baby. The Lalabu Dad Shirt features a built in pouch with a breathable mesh panel on a slim fit v-neck tee. The built in pouch lays flat when the baby is not inside, so Dad’s can look stylish rocking the shirt on its own!
Lalabu first broke into the spotlight in 2013 for the Soothe Shirt, an all-in-one babywearing shirt for moms. Co-founder Keri, the niece of a missionary learned about babywearing when she was 10. Her aunt brought a teen girl named Lalabu from Burkina Faso to visit the U.S. Lalabu showed Keri the traditional African way to carry babies with cloth. Sixteen years later Keri and her husband Brian visited her aunt and Lalabu in Africa and were inspired to create a modern version of babywearing. By incorporating western style lines, focusing on practicality and simple design, the Lalabu Soothe Shirt was born!
With such a connection to the women of Burkina Faso, Lalabu gives 2% of all sales to mom entrepreneurs in Africa through their micro-finance plan.
Lalabu is looking to raise $22k to produce the Dad Shirt and a redesigned Soothe Shirt. You can pledge anywhere from $20 to $175. Pledging for $20 will donate 50% of your contribution to mompreneurs in Africa. A pledge of $68 gives you the option of the Lalabu Dad Shirt, Soothe Shirt or Soothe leggings.
